Where it started

The journey begins.

Lucy joined Scouts BSA looking for adventure. She found a patrol, a troop family, and the confidence to lead.

From demonstrating her first Scout skill to guiding new Scouts through their first campout, every experience strengthened her Scout spirit and shaped the leader she would become.

Beyond the familiar trail

Marine STEM Adventure

Florida
Sea Base

At Florida Sea Base, Lucy and her crew became marine scientists in one of the country's most remarkable ecosystems. They studied coral and shells, explored the waters of the Florida Keys, and engineered an underwater remotely operated vehicle as a team.

The Marine STEM Adventure combines science with conservation and high adventure. Scouts encounter mangroves, seagrass beds, and coral reefs while learning how researchers use fish surveys, coral restoration, species studies, reef monitoring, and tagging programs to protect ocean habitats.

Before sunrise, Lucy left Cincinnati with her contingent and set out for something bigger than any single troop: a temporary city of Scouts in the mountains of West Virginia.

At the Summit Bechtel Reserve, every day offered a new challenge. Lucy stepped onto shooting ranges, explored immersive technology, took on adventure activities, cooked with her crew, and met Scouts from across the country.

But the Jamboree became more than its activities. It was high fives from strangers, friendships formed between campsites, and thousands of Scouts gathered beneath an Eagle and fleur-de-lis drawn across the night sky. Lucy returned home carrying a larger sense of what it means to belong to Scouting.
